Sphene

Sphene is a little-known stone that nonetheless packs a punch. It comes in a variety of clear, bright tones; vibrant greens, yellows, and reddish brown. It is strongly pleochroic and displays very obvious fire; if it were more plentiful it would doubtless be very popular, but scarcity has kept it rather obscure. It is pretty soft at around 5.5 mohs, so best for pendants and earrings.
