This is fascinating star diopside in a 6mm round cabochon. This stone has a black body-colour and a 4-rayed star, which is most easily seen when lit from above. As with all star diopside, the star is made up of one sharply defined ray and one diffuse. It's an interesting stone with a secret, and it's a great choice if you want an affordable black stone, but don't want something dyed like onyx. Please note that the images show these stones under overhead lighting.
